Marieb A&P (2009-06-08)
I would have given the book a full five stars if it wasn't so verbose. The book has wonderful diagrams and isn't bad at all. But it's hard to follow sometimes on top of having a professor that doesn't slow down at all.

However, I will admit that it covers all the bases and goes into detail when neccessary.

I would use it primarily as a reference guide (my prof would list pages to check out for different subjects) to follow along with your class notes. For A&P I didn't buy it because the info was so simple (bones/muscles) that I used the Brief Atlas more. Neurology and A&P II is more complicated, so I would have been lost without this textbook.

I received it in great condition, except for the adhesive sticky stuff on the front cover. It was a NEW copy. The Brief Atlas of the Human Body is an excellent addition, and I did enjoy part of the DVD that was kinda like "Hooked on Phonics" for A&P.

There are other A & P books that are just as good as this one! (2009-05-29)
I gave this one star because the only reason this book is so expensive is because they have Serena's picture on the cover. Someone has to pay her to have her pic on the cover to promote selling the book, right? Guess who's paying? Student just like you and I. It doesn't help that the lab manual is just as expensive. Geesh!

Save your money! (2009-05-15)
This is an excellent book. However the reason I gave it an eye catching 1 star with 'Save Your Money' tag is because I think it is best to get the older version or the 6th edition. The 6th ed. is the blue and white cover book with Apolo Ohno on it. It will be much cheaper than the 7th ed. I checked the 6th ed. out of my library while waiting on my 7th ed. to come in the mail. When my 7th ed. Serena Williams came in the mail, I decided to go thru both books at the same time and see for myself if there were any differences or variations. The only real differences that I found was of course the huge price difference, change of cover photo and just a tad bit more pages, but the most important thing is that both books are the exact same thing from beginning to end with the exact illustrations. I know that alot of the 7th ed.s come with the IP or Interactive Physiology cd. Truth is, alot of professors will give this IP to you for free if you ask. They have their own password that you can use, or you can purchase this IP cd set on ebay for a fraction of the cost. Save money!

Pharmgirl (2009-05-11)
This is a fantastic A&P book for pre-med or pre-pharm studies. I also own Guyton & Hall's Textbook of Medical Physiology 11th ed, but I tend to gravitate toward this book because it is less cryptic than Guyton's. The illustrations are a great aid for folks like me who need visual aids and not just page upon page of text. There are anatomical illustrations and pictures of actual dissections, along with some helpful flow charts. Relevant pics & figures explain concepts that meld well with molecular biology and anatomy lab. I have yet to use the CD that came with the book. Overall, a great addition to my library. I highly recommend this book!

very helpful book (2009-04-24)
The book is very helpful and needed it for class, it came with a visual of where the bones and muscles were.
